These patches are embroidered on hand-woven fabric. They are two-ply, with the back panel covering the backside of the stitching. This makes them extra durable. They also function as beautiful coasters to protect tables from drinking glasses.

"EZLN" stands for Ejercito Zapatista de Liberacion Nacional or the Zapatista Army of National Liberation, an indigenous rebel organization in Chiapas, Mexico.
