Medium roast coffee from the Maya Vinik cooperative, which is a co-op of approximately 500 farming families from the (mostly Tzotzil) Mayan highlands of Chiapas, Mexico. Maya Vinic was formed as a non-violent, solution-oriented response to the 1997 Acteal massacre in which 46 people -- mostly women, children and elders -- were assasinated as they fasted and prayed for peace.
